Ryder System today announced the launch of a new preventive maintenance program available to buyers of its pre-owned vehicles.

With its new preventive maintenance program, Ryder seeks to provide customers with the most flexibility, choice and control in fleet management. With this latest offering, customers will now have the added flexibility to finance or prepay for the preventive maintenance service that they select when they purchase a Ryder pre-owned vehicle.

With preventive maintenance, Ryder’s pre-owned vehicle purchasers can select from a variety of Ryder SelectCare Preventive Maintenance packages that can range from one to three years at the time of vehicle purchase.

The Ryder pre-owned vehicle can be scheduled for up to four preventive maintenance appointments a year, giving the customer access to Ryder’s network of 800 service facilities and 5,900 certified technicians.

Customers can choose to prepay or finance the preventive maintenance package along with the purchase of their Ryder pre-owned vehicle. Financing options are available.

Ryder reports that by selecting preventive maintenance services, pre-owned vehicle buyers can not only increase vehicle uptime, but also secure economical pricing for the full term of the package. In addition, customers receive discounted pricing for any necessary repairs, parts, and tires that may be outside of the preventive maintenance services agreement.

“Recent customer interactions, market research, and conversations with private fleet owners and other pre-owned vehicle sales prospects have shown that maintenance services packaged with convenient financing options are in great demand as a value-added service,” said Dennis Cooke, president, Global Fleet Management Solutions for Ryder. “Our customers recognize the value that comes from our inventory of quality pre-owned commercial vehicles, many of which come with a complete maintenance history of service by Ryder.

“The new preventive maintenance option provides agility and customization for customers that want greater control, uptime, and a simpler way to finance the maintenance of their fleets,” Cooke added. “We’re listening to the marketplace and offering customers the unique opportunity to do business with Ryder on their terms.”

Ryder has the largest retail network of pre-owned vehicles for sale in North America with 59 locations, selling more than 18,000 vehicles a year. Ryder’s pre-owned vehicle inventory includes commercial and heavy-duty trucks consisting of tractors, trailers, straight trucks, panel and cube vans, refrigerated trucks, stake trucks and more.

Vehicles that are Ryder Certified have been owned and maintained by solely Ryder for their entire operating life and come with a 30-day warranty and a complete vehicle maintenance history report.

Ryder also offers Ryder Verified pre-owned commercial vehicles where customers can build their fleet with a fully Department of Transportation compliant vehicle at a cost that works for them. With Ryder Reclassified, customers can search through an inventory of “As-is,” damaged, and scrap vehicles for a fixer-upper option, or to utilize the parts, allowing the flexibility to fit their specific business needs.
